Many people are concerned about the dangers of mercury amalgam fillings or actually dealing with heavy metal toxicity. Some people have symptoms such as headaches and insomnia and others are referred to us by medical doctors for conditions like chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. We have met many people who have searched far and wide for a dental office who understood their situation and would remove their mercury fillings following the special guidelines of organizations such as IAOMT. When mercury toxicity is diagnosed or suspected, special care needs to be taken to make sure the patient is not exposed to mercury during the removal process. The guidelines we follow include, among other things, oxygen delivery to prevent inhaling vapors, a rubber dam to protect from debris and special vacuum equipment. There are very few dental offices that are experienced in these procedures and are understanding of the special needs of patients who have illnesses that need holistic care.
